Server 2007 is a new server program that is part of the 2007 Microsoft

Microsoft Office SharePoint consist of two basic
modules exposed through two types of licensing - standard
and enterprise.
- Windows SharePoint Services
(WSS) - free platform component that comes with
the newest Windows operating systems
- Microsoft Office SharePoint
Services (MOSS) - purchasable product that offers
six (6) basic capabilities as mentioned below. MOSS is
further segmented into Standard and Enterprise per seat
(CAL) licenses.

- Standard (STND) - provides
the core set of features including collaboration, content
and web content management, portal, versioning and retention
scheduling
- Enterprise (ENT) - extends
the standard core set of features with business intelligence,
enterprise search, workflow and web-based forms
In order to take advantage of all
the features of MOSS, users must purchase both a STND and
ENT CAL license plus the one-time SharePoint Server license. |
